Right, so. Considering my last post was just a load of whinging, I figure I should post a proper update!

I'm back at uni, finally. I've been here for a week and a half now. I spent the first week living with [livejournal.com profile] pandagore and the other girls at their house. Their bedrooms are massive, it's kind of ridiculous. I should be moving in with them next year, into the room they're currently using as a lounge but I don't even care that my room wouldn't be as big because 1) it'd still be my own room and 2) I'd be living with the awesomest people ever. It's actually still a bit odd not being there. I'm in halls on campus again this year. It's not so bad, I can visit people pretty easily, really, and I've got a mate in the building next door to me, could be worse. The only... well, it's not exactly a big issue but I've not really spoken to my flatmates much. At all. I met one of them on Sunday. He's a fresher called Jack and seems pretty nice although he has a knack for using 'gay' as a derogatory term but I've not held many conversations with him so I've not had much of a chance to tell him off over it.

There's a girl in the room next to me who I'm sure is a second year because I saw her about last year but I have absolutely no idea what her name is. Or what she's studying. Or anything, really. She kind of poked her head into the kitchen on Sunday while Jack and I were talking and that's been it. There is also another guy in the room across from me named Rich. I sort of had to force him to introduce himself - I knocked on his door Sunday night just before I went to the boys' for pre-drinks because I could hear music from his room and figured I ought to try and say hi. It was a veeeery awkward conversation. And my last hallmate is a Chinese guy, also named Jack, who I've not spoken to very much either but he came across very polite. I like him. There's one room left, as far as I can tell. I have no idea if there are plans to stick someone else in it.

It's just been really great to be back and meeting up with everyone again. I realised how much I'd missed them when I nearly burst into tears upon seeing a bunch of people gathered in a friend's attic for her girlfriend's birthday party. And it's also been nice to get independence back and just doing basically whatever I feel like. Went to Cardiff last week. The day itself was lovely but getting up at 6:30am to catch a bus at 7:20am? Not so great. And then getting harassed by Welsh chavs while waiting for the bus back? Not fun either. It was good otherwise though, did some ~shopping~

I got my timetable yesterday. Basically I'm just doing a load of Latin and Ancient Greek all year, which I certainly don't have a problem with, and then there's this module called The Classics Project which has been described as a mini dissertation. I have NO IDEA what to do for it, but it's not until second semester so I'm not going to stress about it too much. In Latin I'll be translating work by Cicero and Martial. Quite looking forward to the Martial. I wiki'd some his of work earlier and it provided this example:

With your giant nose and cock
I bet you can with ease
When you get excited
check the end for cheese.

Excellent. Who says Latin's boring?

Also LOL TMI but hey remember how in my last post I was bitching about wanting to get laid? Yeah that sort of almost happened on Sunday but my ~friend with benefits~, Rob, was kind of a dick and we only got to 'fool around' which he thought was hilarious and which I am going to get him back for. I think we're having the day to ourselves tomorrow though, unless he's forgotten or something dumb like that, I'm totally going to chase him up on it.

I think tonight the plan is go to the SU bar and then depending on what this UV party thing looks like, either go to that or just head to a pub in the town.

SO YEAH, I think thaaaaat's about it? Oh, wait. Roleplaying. I took a three week hiatus because I figured I'd be pretty busy with uni stuff and wouldn't have time for [livejournal.com profile] thisaccident. I'm just realising that I'm not all that bothered about going back. WHY DO I ALWAYS DO THIS, I just really don't seem to be cut out for RP at all anymore which is frustrating not just for me but for others I'm sure. Blah. Maybe it's because I have been fairly busy recently and lack of internet's not been helpful either. I dunno, we'll see :\

And I think that actually is it.

That looks like some quality Latin poetry there. I approve.

Don't feel bad about the RP thing, I think a lot of people have on/off periods with RPing. At least I normally do. I recently realized I've been at [livejournal.com profile] aliunde_rpg for almost a year and I was like holy fuck new record.

If I get to translate stuff like that this year, I am going to love my course.

Yeah, I was at Drama Drama Duck for aaaaages but then my enthusiasm just tailed off and despite my excitement when I first joined TA, the same thing seems to be happening again :\

Imagine all the embarrassed people in your class. Though I suppose if they've been taking Latin for any amount of time at all they'd be used it. xD

*hugs* Maybe you just need some musebox/one-on-one time? Doing really low-key stuff helps me get back in the groove sometimes. I have periods where all I do is stalk [livejournal.com profile] dear_mun. xD
