Okay, I got some of the DLC for PS3, just the Lost in Nightmares chapter and the bits that came with that. I'll get the other stuff all for 360 another time.

Impressions!

Well, my first thought is: Capcom, you're fucking annoying. That chapter just raised more questions for me than it answered. Leaving that aside, for the moment...

I really liked how it was more of a throwback to the old games. Sadly pretty short (took me ages to finish though, because I kept typing out the content of the files for Kat). And yeah, I jumped a couple times, when that body fell, and then the bats through the windows... oh god, and that THING smashing through the wall. I only died once and that's because I was panicking, trapped between two of the bastards.

Much creepier than RE5 itself. Even though Andrea'd already told me you don't really shoot anything for the first half, I was still being really, REALLY careful and slow about everything. The way the doors opened annoyed and unnerved me. I like kicking them down, not having to wait around for them to open.

The puzzles were pretty neat. I played it on Amateur, so I might have just gotten off easy, but they weren't so bad that I couldn't figure it out after running around for a bit. The piano was a nice little touch. And the return of "itchy. tasty". Fighting Wesker was pretty fun too, though I was flailing for most of it, all "I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M MEANT TO DO." I wish I'd dragged that out a little longer, I sort of wonder if he had anything to say other than 'Ignorant cretins!' It makes me want to play him some more.

While I'm still talking gameplay, I had a quick go with Excella and Barry. They both cracked me up, Excella with her High Heel and Humiliate animations, and then Barry with his 'Barry sandwich'. I'll get the other costumes on 360, I think.

Okay, as for what was revealed in terms of plot... NOT A WHOLE FUCKING LOT. THANKS, CAPCOM. All it's done is made me more confused. It's possible I missed a file that explained everything neatly but I doubt it.

There was a lot of talk about 'Alex'. I very much doubt that was Alexander Ashford, considering that Spencer referred to said Alex as the last of his children and therefore most likely, the Wesker children.

Also, Irving was working for Ada? The plot (what there is of it) thickens. Again.

The list of test subjects was interesting:
1: Hans
2: Felicia
3: Marco
4: Jonah
5: Irma
6: Ken
7: Laura
8: William
9: Hiro
10: Derek
11: Miles
12: Alex
13: Albert

Kat and I had a good giggle over how Albert's last. And then a o_o moment at number 8.

That's pretty much all I can remember for now. Below is the kinda lulzy conversation with Kat while I was playing. Feel free to skip.

[livejournal.com profile] touchmy12inch (15:44:23): ...who is Patrick and why am I reading his memoirs

[livejournal.com profile] spatzkind (16:07:19): Well, it says in that file
[livejournal.com profile] spatzkind (16:07:27): Albert's death puts the current success rate of
Project W down to 18 percent.
[livejournal.com profile] spatzkind (16:07:38): but granted this was in '98
[livejournal.com profile] touchmy12inch (16:07:40): but then Spencer was like "only one survived, you"
[livejournal.com profile] spatzkind (16:07:45): He coulda killed the rest of them
[livejournal.com profile] touchmy12inch (16:07:49): mhm
[livejournal.com profile] spatzkind (16:08:15): Plus, there's a possibility that 1 person could equal 18%

[livejournal.com profile] spatzkind (16:12:23): ...shit needs to start copying right
[livejournal.com profile] spatzkind (16:12:31): This is not the mansion from Resident Evil 1. Apparently, Umbrella has a second creepy laboratory mansion in the woods a few miles away from the original game’s creepy mansion laboratory in the woods. Since just one was not enough, you see.
[livejournal.com profile] spatzkind (16:12:44): I THINK THAT'S THEIR ATTITUDE TOWARDS SPENCER'S KIDS, TOO
[livejournal.com profile] touchmy12inch (16:12:45): YOU CAN NEVER HAVE ENOUGH
[livejournal.com profile] touchmy12inch (16:13:20): ..."Played poker tonight with Scott and Alias from Security, and Steve from Research"

[livejournal.com profile] touchmy12inch (16:18:31): "The man in question is one Mr. Albert Wesker, a name I have not heard in quite a long time. I only met him once, over ten years ago."
[livejournal.com profile] spatzkind (16:18:48): *spittake*
[livejournal.com profile] touchmy12inch (16:19:21): "I am ashamed to admit that I cannot recall his face. The reason, I believe, is because of his eyes - those cold, unfeeling eyes that completely overshadowed his other features."
[livejournal.com profile] spatzkind (16:19:29): ...
[livejournal.com profile] spatzkind (16:19:39): WELL THEN YOU'RE GONNA HAVE A FUCK OF A TIME FINDING HIM
[livejournal.com profile] touchmy12inch (16:20:22): hmm "I know of a certain unscrupulous individual who could put the information on the streets, for the right price. He is the kind that does not care who he talks t. What made the individual I found of such importance is that he is in the employ of a female spy who has regluar dealings with Wesker."
[livejournal.com profile] touchmy12inch (16:20:44): .... "I paid this man (I forget if his name was Roberto or Ricardo" I KNEW IT
